The joke's on my parents, because it turns out I can still draw really well with the tablet, maybe even better. There are basically no disadvantages in using a tablet over pencil and paper, and I have no idea why I haven't switched over earlier.

This time I really was trying to copy the style of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's a fun style that can make ferocious fanged faces look natural on tongues. I think I've learned a few things about shading recently from copying pages from that manga, though they're probably things that you artsy people already know and are keeping it a secret from me so you can laugh at me behind your backs. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I'm on to you, you jerks.

On a related note, what the hell does it take to get pageviews on deviantArt? I'm not really that much of a publicity whore (oh, who am I kidding? I hate cleaning up line work. And inking. Coloring I can do occasionally but these two I absolutely loathe. So fuck it. Seriously, just fuck it. >:(

In retrospect, drawing something like this turned out to be much easier than I had expected. (It took something like around four hours, but it still came out with relatively little effort.) I still need some work on ears (the picture originally had ears but they looked so god awful I decided to cover them up) and the hair could definitely be done better, but the shading is really coming along well.
The day I make a game with profiles like these will be the day I want to never finish making a game. |
