This journal sucks and is now about Suzumiya Haruhi
I liked the anime. Really, I did.

What I don't like is how almost all the comments I've seen about it has been somewhere between "OMG Freudian references it'z so deep! :OOO" and "itz a ripoff evangelion wannabe >:(", as if the value of an anime is based solely on the number of academic references that it makes and how similar it is to another popular anime. From what I hear about it, almost nobody actually got the point of the anime.

1) If your life sucks, no one's going to make it interesting except yourself.
2) You don't need to escape into some reclusive fantasy world to have fun. There are plenty of interesting things in the real world if you stop being a lazy antisocial jerkoff and look for them.

There, that's the point of the anime. It's not about Freud or the Bible or Haruhi being a god, and you're a heartless prick for thinking that it is.
